Becoming a TOS Member

How do I join TOS?

In Person:

  • Come along to a rehearsal, Monday's 7-9pm at Barnard Castle School in the Main Hall and join in person. There will be forms to complete and you can pay cash. You can also pay by BACS or cheque, details are on the Membership Form.

There is no audition to join as a member but all members have to audition for any production they wish to be part of. You do need to be a member in order to audition for a production. Each production will have its own audition process, so make sure you're subscribed to our newsletter for more information. TOS is open to everyone over the age of 11. Those under 16 need to have the permission of a parent or guardian to join.

How much does it cost?

Membership fees are set yearly at our AGM. Fees for 2021/2022 are:

Adult Performing Members - £25

Adult Non-Performing Members - £20

Students and 16 & Under Performing Members - £15

Students and 16 & Under Non-Performing Members - £10

*For anyone who joined in 2020, your membership will roll over into 2021 with no extra fees due.

Benefits of becoming a Member?

The main benefit of becoming a member of TOS is being able to be involved in one of our productions. The fee also covers the cost of our insurance, to make sure everyone involved is properly covered when undertaking rehearsals and performances. Being a Member, (whether acting or non-acting) gives you access to our specific Member Facebook group (over 13s only) and Member Newsletter, plus the Members Area of the website (where we will post audition pieces, rehearsal schedules and notes). The Membership Fee goes towards the costs involved in rehearsing for and putting on productions, so you're helping TOS in a great way!
