Hello, My Name Is...

Teesdale Operatic Society has been a long time in the planning. When I moved to Barnard Castle back in 2013 from Northumberland, the first thing I did was to look for a local Musical Theatre group. I was surprised that there wasn't anything in the town to cater for those of us of a musical nature. Since then, it's always been in the back of my mind, but life gets in the way. I got married, had a baby and on top of running my own business, it was all a bit much. However, what's that saying? "If you want something done, ask a busy woman" - and so the idea was born, and along with two very good friends, TOS came into existence.

The society has grown so much over the three years it has been in existence. We have a membership of over 100 people, a youth wing (TOYS) and are the proud owners of no less than five NODA awards.​

The aim is to have fun. If you've always wanted to be Evita, sway in the background of West Side Story or be painted as green as Shrek, then this is the group for you. EVERYONE is welcome. I hope to sing along with you to some classic musical theatre songs soon.
